Installation
Installation was very easy. We downloaded and installed the software within a matter of minutes. After the installation completes you are guided through creating your first backup job.
Backup
Running the first backup was quick and easy. It ran smoothly without interruption. Depending on the size of your backup it can take a while. It only took two to three hours to back up around 2GB of data. We limited our file selection to all files less than 30MB in size.
Backup Option: Advanced Scheduling
The advanced scheduler works great. It has quite a few options allowing you to select individual days of the week as well as setting custom start and stop times.
Since we were backing up our work computers we set the schedule to run Monday through Saturday and start at 8PM. If the job takes a long time Just Cloud has an Automatic Backup Pause feature. This allows us to set the time that the job should pause. We set the job to pause during business hours, (8AM to 6PM)
Backup Option: Selection
Here you can select the folders and files you want to back up. There are two main options backup the Documents folder (selected by default) or manually select your files and folders.
When you manually select your files, a new window dialog box opens and you can select which files are available for backup. JustCloud can backup most any file on your network, however you may need to purchase an addons to accomplish this. Addons include Network Drive Support, the ability to increase file size limit from 1GB to 5GB, and automatically backup all videos.
Backup Option: Bandwidth
JustCloud gives you two ways to limit your bandwidth usage. First, you can set a daily or monthly limit. Secondly, you can limit the upload or download rate (Kb/s).
The daily/monthly limits are helpful if you ISP tracks and limits how much data you can transfer. Our ISP does not track this so we did not enable this feature, while others may find it super helpful.
We found the second method of limiting bandwidth usage as being very useful. It can be very easy to slow down your connection when a backup job is running, so we set our connection speed limit to 100KB/s. By setting this limit we ensure that JustCloud does not interfere with any of the other programs.
Backup Option: File Types
JustCloud gives you the ability to limit the files for backup by file type. This is helpful if you have several very large file types that you do not want backed up such as ISO or disk images.
Since we wanted to backup all files, we did not have much use for this section. It should be noted that JustCloud populates this with several file types, it is worth reading the list to ensure that you are not excluding any files types that you want backed up.
Security
Here you can select HTTP or HTTPS for the connection security. HTTPS adds an extra layer of security when connecting the the website. Note that HTTPS is always used when transferring your file data.
Power & CPU
This option is very helpful to those with a laptop. There is an option that pauses the backup while running on a battery.
The other option helps manage CPU usage. It will only backup files if the computer has been idle for a certain amount of time.
Mobile App
We found it to be one of the best mobile backup apps out there. The design is clean and responsive. You can backup your camera roll automatically then share these pictures using the app. The app can start backups on other devices and see files that have already been backed up. It's available for iPad, iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Windows Surface, and Kindle Fire.
Restoring files
We found the JustCloud software to be the easiest way to restore files. In the software there is a drop down menu to select the device you want to restore files from. After choosing your device the folders will populate on the left and you can navigate the folders. Either select the files or a whole folder and click "Restore". It's straightforward and easy to navigate.
Mobile Restore
Mobile restore is as you would expect. There is no way you can restore files to your phone. You can only save images and PDF's. Otherwise, you can open files and send them to yourself via email.
Web Restore
Restoring through the web is not ideal. There is no way to download whole folders or to make a large selection for download. You can retrieve any backed up file, but they must be downloaded one at a time. If you can, use the software to do any serious restorations. That being said, if you are in a pinch, it is nice to know that files can be restored via the website.
File Syncing
It's pretty straightforward. When you install JustCloud a 1GB Sync Folder is created. Files in this folder can by synced to any computer or phone that has the JustCloud software or app installed. The sync folder does not sync when a file is added. Instead it follows your backup schedule or you can manually backup for changes to be synced.
File Sharing
Sharing is excellent on mobile and web apps but does not exist on the desktop software. Login to their website and mouse over a file or folder to share it. People must have a JustCloud account to access the files. The sharing options are sending via email, uploading to Facebook, and posting to twitter. There is no way to do this from the software.
Support
Using the "Help Center" and submitting a ticket is the best way to get results. They do not have a phone number or chat support. You can buy Priority Support addon to ensure quick response.
Conclusion
JustCloud has a well made product, it's very stable and easy to navigate. The smartphone apps are very clean and well designed (we used the iPhone app).
Getting your files backed up is very simple with all of the options that help you filter out the unnecessary files. Restoring files is great if you can use the software, the mobile apps and website won't help you restore massive amounts of data (at least not quickly).
Overall we are satisfied with the performance of JustCloud. Some could find themselves in need of phone support or get frustrated with the addons for purchase, however, these are non-issues with the rest of the application having a clean, well-designed interface, easy to use tools, and reliable.

I lost 3 picture folders and tried to restore from JustCloud backup. Because I had moved to LInux I the meantime it took me more than 3 hours to poll each and individual picture from the web interface. (I had 1500+ pics I tried to restore) I only got about 1300 pictures from the backup. The rest of the pictures was impossible to restore I always got the message "the file could not be downloaded now, try again later". I actually have tried now for a week and always see the same response for the same pictures.
I have now copied all my pictures to external hard drive and will not use this service ever again!

Once I uploaded picture files to JustCloud from my computer, most of my pictures disappeared from it. I have been able to see them on JustCloud but have not been able to restore them on my computer even with their app.
Fortunately, I backed up some of them on another hard drive, so it was not a compete loss.
You cannot reach technical support on the phone. You have to e mail them questions and they respond with same standard e mails. I was told that I have to reach Tear 2 technical support but for the last several month despite numerous phone calls was not able to get anywhere.
However, who was able to reach me, are the salespeople offering renewal and upgraded service.
In Summary, it is automatic, it is easy, it is not too expensive, but if you have a problem, you may be on your own.

I travel to an area now that does not have reliable connection so I needed to cancel my service. Not only was it quick and painless, the team was very helpful in explaining the process - ALL unused funds for service were completely refunded. I would not HESITATE to renew with this service provider again!

When I signed up for JustCloud a year ago, I was so impressed that I signed up for an additional two years. I wish I still had such a high opinion, but I don't. Here's why.
I have a number of drives, each with thousands of folders and tens of thousands of files. It was so great to be able to back up a whole drive by simply dragging and dropping it onto the JustClound PC application. Ten seconds, and walk away. You're done. JustCloud does the rest.
That is, until a month or so ago, when JustCloud removed the ability to drag and drop folders. Now, you can only drag and drop files. With thousands of folders, it would now take days to do what used to take me ten seconds. The service is now utterly useless to me.
I contacted JustCloud, and when they confirmed that they no longer support dragging and dropping of folders, I asked that they cancel my account. They were more than happy to do that, but they refused to refund the payment for the unused two years of service.
It's not like I had any choice. JustCloud was no longer able to provide the service that I paid for. The responsibility is theirs, and I don't think it unreasonable to expect to be reimbursed. Yet they refuse.
JustCloud used to be a great service, and it deserved its number one spot on the charts. Not any more. If you are considering signing up with JustCloud, do yourself a favor and look very closely at the alternatives. There are no doubt comparable services out there with better ethics and business practices.

I purchased a 2 year unlimited plan. Backups ceased after I used only 1.07 TB of storage. The company did not inform me that they had put a hold on my backups (apparently 1.07 TB is too much space to use...even though I paid for unlimited storage). So for 3 months the JustCloud app on my PC ran daily, and indicated that backups had been completed. No error message. Then I went to look for some files and realized that nothing was backing up anymore. When I contacted customer support they told me I had to upgrade to a business account to resume backups. $30/month on top of the $78/month I am already paying! And I am a student, who was uploading wedding photos and homework assignments, not a business. In a nutshell, false advertising, abysmal customer service, and far too expensive. Buy an external hard drive rather than use this service. Also, canceling my account is taking much longer than I'd like it too, so I am currently paying for something I cannot use.
Pros and Cons
Pros
As far as I can tell, this service is secure. It is also straightforward to use. Prompt (though not necessarily helpful) response to customer service emails.
Cons
The unlimited backup is not unlimited. The company can (and will) put your backups on hold without notifying you. The cost is very high compared to other backup services and/or buying an external hard drive. It is difficult (and costs money) to cancel an account. Customer service is generally speaking poor, thought it is prompt, just not terribly helpful.

JUSTCLOUD
“In the cloud” backup seemed like a good solution for backing up data for my small company so I did a little on line research to choose a good reliable reputable backup service. JustCloud seemed to have good ratings and reviews at a reasonable price on quite a few web sites. And in choosing JustCloud is when my nightmare started!
The first problem was with purchasing the additional 5 GB of sync space needed to link my home and work computer. After numerous lengthy e-mails, hours spent trying to get the sync to work and being offered discounts on existing purchases and additional upgrades I received the following e-mail from the JustCloud User Experience Team admitting the problem with no fix date in sight!
Hi Mike,
Thank you for your email.
We are very much aware of these issues and our development team will be fixing it in the future, regrettably though as our priority is with backup other development priorities will delay a fix for this.
I appreciate this is not ideal, we will be happy to upgrade your sync folder to 20GB when we resolve the bugs with it.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
Kind Regards,
Keith Steele
User Experience Team
After additional e-mails and more wasted time I finally received a full refund for the additional 5 GB of sync purchased. The refund that originally was supposedly was not refundable.
The next problem noticed was the fact that my computer was taking anywhere from 1 ½ hours to 1 ½ days to not even finishing at all, backing up my daily data to JustCloud. They claimed that after the initial lengthy backup the additional daily backups would complete in only a few minutes. Once again, after numerous e-mails and hours and hours of wasted time I received the following e-mail from the JustCloud User Experience Team admitting the problem with a fix date of mid to late February. And guess what, late February has come and gone without a fix!
Hi Mike,
Thank you for your email.
We are aware of problems existing with file versioning and stalling backups. In mid to late February this will be fixed for definite.
As far as I have been made aware this won't require an update to the application, it will purely be a fix on the server side.
We will compensate you for the time the service has not worked correctly and your patience is highly appreciated.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
Kind Regards,

Again, after numerous other e-mails requesting a refund in full for a service that wasn’t working and being offered discounts on existing and additional upgrades we found a telephone number to contact JustCloud. After about an hour on the telephone with customer service, being told that we should not have received the above e-mail admitting the problem and that would have to pay a cancelation fee we finally received a refund in full for the 2 year agreement for the first computer but were denied a refund for the additional 1 year license purchased for the second computer. To date, JustCloud still owes me a refund for the second license that was purchased.
I don’t know who JustCloud pays to get these great reviews but from my horrible experience with them I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. This is definitely one of the worst scams that I have ever been involved with. My time while running a small business is extremely valuable and this scam bothered me so much that I took time out of my busy schedule to write this to warn others about JUSTCLOUD!

This page is just an advertisement. Don't believe any of it. A year ago I purchased storage from this company. Over two months, I was not able to get my files to upload. If my computer shut down for any reason (for instance, a thunderstorm), the upload would start again at the very beginning, After a couple of times, it refused to even attempt an upload. Tech support is non-existent. It is email only; every time I tried to contact them I got the same 2-3 suggestions/"Aren't we wonderful" form letters with a different name at the bottom, from someone whose first language was obviously not English. But no help at all. Finally I canceled my account. They only refunded part of my fee until I pitched a fit and finally got all my money back. Now, a year later they have the audacity to charge me a renewal fee! Before even considering this company, search the web--you'll find it littered with complaints similar to mine.

Now, a year later they have the audacity to charge me a renewal fee! Before even considering this company, search the web--you'll find it littered with complaints similar to mine.

JustCloud is a ripoff. They advertise "unlimited" storage but it is not! AND, once you go over
your "unlimited" invisible line you get a notice you will be DELETED from their backup.
Not Good. Then you have 30 days to either upgrade to a new more significantly expensive plan
or lose ALL of your back up for which you contracted with them. They do not offer any
refund for the time you contracted for and paid. Very DECEPTIVE Company. Then they
send you a nasty email after you respond to inquire like the say you can; but you receive the
same email again pretty much telling you too bad, you have to upgrade and we no longer honor your contract. Beware of JustCloud. I paid for a two year contract and they are dropping me after one saying I am over my "UNLIMITED" storage. Their system does not work properly and it fails to backup your file regularly.
